Fripp Island is a private, 3,000-acre, residential, resort island and wildlife refuge. It measures just over 3 1/2 miles in length and is about one mile wide at it's center. It is the most seaward of the beautiful Carolina Sea Islands. Fripp's nearest neighbors are Hunting Island State Park and Pritchard's Island, a nature conservancy owned and operated by the University of South Carolina.

Along the Atlantic, our 3 1/2 mile beach faces southeast, offering beautiful sunrises. Spectacular marsh sunsets can be seen from neighborhoods like Ocean Creek and Sawgrass. Fripp Island is blessed with a mild subtropical climate that makes it possible to enjoy your favorite sports year round. From December through February, the average monthly high is 60 degrees. In July and August when the average high peaks at 89 degrees, the sunshine is usually accompanied by a cooling ocean breeze.

The climate encourages exotic foliage and flowers bloom against backdrops of palmettos, moss-draped oaks and pines in every season. The wildlife is so diverse, from herons to deer to alligators   to bald eagles to the loggerhead sea turtle in summer! We know that you will just love our island and we hope you enjoy your visit and come back soon!
